• In at the weekend.

Not getting much time to pop in and catch up this week. I have been off to J's my friend each night as she has a shop in her lounge, selling our stuff. It is very pretty and glittery but we have hardly any customers.

I am picking up my new car on Friday then out in the evening with girly friends to a local Chinese. So keep well and look out fro me on Saturday.

  • Such a pleasure

Just spent a little time catching up with my friends, uninterrupted by phone or children. I am so glad I get Friday afternoon off. Looking froward to this evening when the conservation group has its AGM and then a firework party and BBQ. Hope the rain holds off.

  • Win some lose some

It's ben a funny old week. I managed to get down to see my sisters in Portsmouth and my brother and his family in the New Forest last weekend. I have three neices. One is 17 and the other two are 14 and 12. They are a lively bunch but no trouble so I was really pleased to see them.

I came back to Derby on Sunday night and planned a rest day for Monday. It was not quite the rest I hoped as the car packed up on me. It was my fault as it happens. When one of my sisters visited Derby in the summer she left a coat but didn't tell me until I was in Portsmouth. On Monday my nephew was travelling down to visit her so I took the coat to the train station to drop it off and when I came back got out the car but forgot to turn the light off.

The RAC were very nice but I didn't have 'at home' so it cost me £60.00 to have that so a man could ome and sort me out. Annoyingly, we have a jump starter thing but it was in the other cart which was being repaired at the garage 5 miles away.

This is the third time this year for leaving lights on. I haven't done it before. Must slow down. Ultimately this may pay ofr itself anyway as the car is getting old and has been having a few problems of late.

So Tuesday I was off to Manchester to buy stock from a warehouse there and then back to work Wednesday. I had a lovely short week of 3 days. Last week was hellish but everything had calmed down thank goodness so I managed to tackle some projects I had been wanting to get on with.

On a financially positive note my RAC loss was balanced a little by me finding a bus pass from work which I had paid £10.00 for and so got that back and better still I found a £10.00 note in the street last night in town so things aren't so bad.

I had great evening with friends last night when we met up at a restaraunt/bar in town to chat and gossip. It was very important because one of my friends has been struggling with her boyfriend who is a lovely soul but has developed alcohol problems. In fact he has had them for years but it has not become an issue until now when his mental health deteriorated and he just went overboard.

Today I am at Matlock Illuminations for the last time this year. Hope the weather holds off. Then tomorrow grass raking in the rain by the sounds of it. If it torrential we shall have to cancel the task.

I will try to pop in in the week but no promises. I am so tired nowaday that sitting and looking at the computer is the last thing I want to do of an evening at the moment.

  • Holiday of sorts

I could really do with a break and so I have taken some days off from work. I am of from tomorrow until Wednesday and will be going down south at the weekend to visit family in Porstmouth and the New Forest. I am looking forward to seeing my family as this will be the last visit before christmas.

I'll no doubt pop ina gain before the weekend.

  • Out of the loop

Once more I venture in here to say hello having dropped out for the last month or two. Life has been busy and chaotic at times plus it's busy season with my business. I had a great weekend at the Derby Traditional Music andFolk Festival and then at Matlock illuminations the weekend just gone.

Work is also hectic and I find I am so tired that I can't be bothered to blog after doing tea, housework and held hands or offered a shoulder to cry on with whom ever drops in.

Things are settling again now and I am enjoying the coolness and change as Autumn gets underway.

    See you all again soon.

  • Folk fest today

Looking forward to a day a Derby's Folk Festival. I will be there all weekend selling stuff and getting the chance to listen to music I wouldn't normally listen to.

All well here. Even teh sun is shining. Have a good weekend one and all.

  • Drop in session.

This week has been a bit rough to say the least. I have managed to continue to work despite headaches and nausea, not sure why but not ill enough to not go. DD though has had a virus along with Son no 1 and his girlfriend. They have all had coughs, sore throats, headaches and very high temperatures. DD has also now developed shingles which I am told is rare in children.

Everyone feels a lot better now and hope that next week we can get some things done like a bit of gardening, sorting out my office stroke junk room and paperwork that has been piling up for a month.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Tonight I am selling stuff at Matlock Illuminations and tomorrow it is ther first conservation task of the season: pathwork.

  • Nice end to a busy week.

Having a few hours of peace tapping away at the 'puter. Been busy since last weekend which I spent at Derby's ecofest making dreamcatchers from willow and old wool, fethers and ribbon.

I had lurgy on Monday last week and was off sick, a rare thing for me. I slept all day but it took me a few days to recover. My DD has a heavy cold and high temperature now and I am going the same way.

So popping in to catch up and say hello to my blog friends and hope that you too have a peaceful Sunday.

  • Looking for schools

DD is now 10 years old and next September she will go to secondary school. We have now started the process of getting her into a school by visiting a local independent school last night. We had a great time looking around and seeing how things have changed in the last few years. I would love to do some of the creative stuff they do now with the aid of IT. Two more schools to check out before the form has to be in. One is five miles away and has a good reputaton,. Parents I have spoken to have have given it an excellent report. The other is the default school which is improving but it is a language college rather than IT/ICT orientated which is what she wants. Can't beleive the time has come to do this yet. 10 years has flown by.

  • Locked out again

Been locked out from blogland for about a week. Very frustrating. Back in again fro the time being but will have very little time over the weekend as going to a local eco show.

    Will pop in on Monday.
