Poorly sick

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2008-06-30 - 13:56:46

I am off sick from work for the fist time in a long time today. I have a cold and a chest infection. I should be ok. I am fitter and healthier than I have been for years. This last two weeks have been awful for sleep deprivation with both my daughter and husband off sick with their coughs and chest infections. I have also had a lot of stress and have been busy at work which is emotionally demanding. So I suppose I had it coming.

The builders are still in but progress has been made. They have done some plastering and the electician is in now.

The good thing about being off sick on a day like this is that I can spend a bit of time with my friends in blogland and also enjoy the sunshine while it is there. Being sick isn't all bad. I even managed to do some house work. Gotta take it easy though or I won't get better in time for the weekend when I am selling stuff at a canal fest.

I hope veryone else is well and happy :D

Catch up time

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2008-06-06 - 17:30:51

Can't believe it is over a week since I popped in. I had a good weekend last weekend at the Americana Auto Rally. This means I sold enough to ocver my costs. The sun shone most of the time but when it did rain, at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon it was the kiss of death.

Well since then I have been tired out. I was at a wedding reception on Sunday night. I was so tight on time that I was in the shower when my friends came to pick me up. Monday I was wiped out and then Tuesday son No 2 was 18 so we had a little party. Cooking for our extened family was a bit of a trial. We are taking him out on the town tonight. First evening out as a legally drinking adult. We are also taking Son No 1 and his girlfriend so it should be a good night.

Work has eased off and I was at a pain conference today. The roof is on the extension and the walls have now been breached. We have new doorways and we will be able to mark up where we think our furniture is going.

Right, time for a little nap.

Have a good weekend folks.

Big drips

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2008-05-28 - 18:13:50

The weather is a lot of a trial for me at the moment. I am usually easy going about most forms of weather and love the changeablility of the British weather.

Unfortunately my extension is not water tight and I have been on the roof with hubby stapling down the windblown moisture barrier and mopping up water that has gone down through the new floor to the computer room. Luckily the computers were not in there.

I had a wet bank holiday Monday in Chippenham too and hardly sold anything. We only stayed 'cos we paid out so much to be there.

T is back at work and the load has been lifted now. Her husband is not fully over his surgery and had to be radmitted to hospital so that delayer her return.

Expecting to be at a local American car rally over the weekend but predicted rain means it is doubtful. Got to convince J of that though.

A relaxing weekend after a heavy week

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2008-05-18 - 21:49:16

Last week at work was really hard going with people with psychlogical difficulties and complicated problems, and at the same time a lot of people to see. I escaped early on Friday and did the food shop and then started to wind down. Saturday was spent at a local town hall selling stuff, not a great day due to rain.

Last night I had a lovely evening with friends, eating and drinking. It has to be said that I did overdo the wine a bit. I was up with the lark this morning though, 7am and needed an afternoon nap to catch up.

Today was spent doing very small things, visiting a friend on an organic farm, spending time with the family and of course napping. Hubby, littl'un and son No 2 have been sharing time on a fantasy computer role playing game, Might and Magic. I can't play because I get travel sick but I am happy listening in and chatting as the game goes on.

Looking forward to the week next week now. Hope its a good one for everyone else.

Discovery

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2008-05-15 - 22:19:46

Had a great time drystone walling on Sunday, perfect weather and in the shade. Back at work this week and working way too hard as both my colleagues are off for different reasons.

Just discovered that I can get the smiley's at the top of the screen by clicking onto the smiley face and suddenly I have an audience of the things. Wow, always wondered how to do that. :DD I know I am slow but bloomin' heck, why didn't I find it before? Never mind.

Good day so far

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2008-05-10 - 18:42:17

Well after my last pst listing all the things I had to do, I am much happier as most have been done. Sometimes it seems like I am wading though life, but once these busy moments pass I feel like I am flying.

Good news for G today. She was so confident after Tuesdays meeting she met up with the DASH social club for golf today, and loved it. She is really getting on with the people in the group and has now made a buddy who she is teaming up with to go and do more stuff. I am so happy for her as I think she thought she could never make friends due to her mental ill health.

I have had a good few days. The reading group went well on Friday and today the May fair at J's school was enjoyable though not proftable. Good job I don't take a wage out. Got another fair next week for a buddhist charity in Ashbourne town hall.

Tomorrow I am leading the drystone walling task at Belper. The temperature looks great but it may be a bit hot for me. Luckily we are working in the shade of a lovely woodland.

I hope everyone is well and happy, I'll pop in again soon :D

Whats on my mind.

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2008-05-09 - 01:41:23

I haven't written for a few days, too much coming and going at my house to concentrate. The builders are now in and have taked the roof off the extension and are to take the ceiling joists out tomorrow. We have had to clear out the extension of computer and shelves of ornaments plus other stuff. I am really glad they got started though, thought it would never happen. The walls are already rising for the top half now.

My friend M's mum died a few days ago, a lot more quickly than she had planned. It is fortunate that she and her parents and family had had chance to talk beforehand.

My friend D, who was also being investigate for cancer had a huge cyst removed last week and is feeling tons beter, though tired.

T's husband came home from hospital yesterday afternoon and did well following his cancer surgery and my friend G's mood has lifted. On Tuesday we went to join a new social group and she is intending to go out with them on Saturday morning playing golf of all things. This is fantastic news as she had not felt safe to go out without a lot of support for a long time.

Today I had to do a presentation on a study day to a load of ward nurses about pain stuff. Unfortunately I had not prepared as well as I might as the previous evening at work was spent sorting out problems, time I had set aside for prep. i will be better next time and I wasn't a total failure.

So I am lying awake thinking about all sorts of stuff. I need a few more invitations for the morning for my daughters 9th birthday party in a few weeks, I have stuff to post and some references to write and post, I have to sort all my sale items out for the school fair on Saturday and take the last few items down out of the downstairs room for the builders.

I have reading group tomorrow night. I hope to finish early tomorrow afternoon and do some of the things but also need to take the car into it's MOT appointment and I am drystone walling on Sunday. None of this I can avoid so I am writing a paper list and getting started now, then I will sleep :D

Night night to those still awake, otherwise have a good day :D
