Wdnesday already

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-26 - 17:44:56

Had a nice few days just tootling along minding my own business so nothing to report. Went out last night to see 'Run Fat Boy Run'. Absolutely no thinking was required but I nearly choked twice from laughng.

Work all ok and managed to go swimming for the first time since the summer hols started on monday. Loving the walk from the car park to work as the weather is so nice.

I am doing my Spring cleaning right now. I always start now so I will actually get it done for spring. :D

Other half is having an interview today for a job he really wants. He left the last job because the bosses were piling it on and he was doing 3 jobs at the same time. This one came up as he was leaving so he applied for it despite having just moved. He says it is a win win situation because he has a job he likes and if he gets the other one he will still have a job he likes.

He also started a business management course last week and I start a Pain module at the University of Nottingham in a few weeks. Next year I hope to start my degree so I will be all primed and ready to go, that is if the funding is available.

Nice easy weekend.

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-23 - 11:20:42

I am having a reasonably easy weekend. C has gone off to the Peak Park with the Conservation Volunteers for the weekend an as we speak is buildng steps. I usually go but Littl'un had been ill. She is tons better now. Yesterday I cleared my bedroom of 6 boxes of books and put them in the loft and that was it. Also had visits from G, MIL and FIL one of the brothers. Also my sister D came to see both sons about various probs.

D is my oldest sister and is one tough business woman. She has her fingers into all sorts of pies. She has a charitable arm to her business which helps people with all sorts of life problems with everything from getting errant daughters to school to housing probs. Anyway she is helping Son no 1 to get a flat out of the yMCA. The YM is good but he is a vulnerable adult and feels threatened all the time by a lot of the residents.

She is also helping Son no 2 who worked for a month for a guy who has not paid him yet, he is owed over £800.00. Di is very versatile and is aware of a lot of the workplace law as she employs people occasionally.

This has taken a weight of my shoulders as both boys have been having difficulties and I have been unable to help.

today I am uploading a load of stuff onto ebay as it is now busy season and sales are poor. Changing jobs and all the stress has taken a lot of energy which I should have been concentrating on my business. Busy season starts in earnest next Saturday with a a stall at Matlock Light. We have done reasonably well ther before and I am really looking forward to it. Love being a shopkeeper :D

Have a good day all.

Wipe out the bugs eh?

Now being a particularly quiet soul I don't often comment on the wild stories in the press but this onw made me laugh out loud. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7008775.stm What GB doesn't get is that you can clean all you like, people bring it in with them and there is nothng you can do to detect most so called superbugs by looking at a person.

Emulating the great Faffa Francis

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-20 - 14:00:09

Off work today as my daughter is ill with a high temp and sore throat. MIL law looked after her while I did shopping and went to the PO.

Husband starts a course on business management today and he popped in at lunchtime for some paperwork. He rang me moments after he left saying he had seen an injured squirrel in the road. So dutifully I went out to rescue it but it was clearly catching its last breaths. it's little heart was beating like mad when I picked it up. Not sure what happened to it but some of it's tail was in my front garden so I think it was shock from cat attack or internal injury. The outside was perfect. It was a lady squirrel and well fed, may have been one of my regular visitors. Anyway, the poor thing died within moments. I will be burying it later in the field where I walk the dog.

Other anoma news. Some may recall my release of a family of mice a few months ago. They had nested in my garage. Anyway I know of one that had gotten away and it's body was found at the weekend lying on the floor in the garage. It looked like cat injury too, poor thing.

First time for everything

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-18 - 18:05:02

Had Son no 1 over his weekend with his girlfriend and baby. It wasn't so bad. Son has the greatest skill in baby care, being able to get him to sleep just by holding him. L is now 10 months old, crawling and pulling himself up. He is happy and hardly cries or moans.
On Sunday we drove up to the to Manchester so L could visit his Great Grandma for the first time. That went well and we had a lovely trip back watching rainbows in front and a gorgeous sunset behind us.

Looking forward to having them again tho I still have problems with Son no 1 and his girlfriend.

Sunny day

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-15 - 10:09:41

Great start to the day. Sun shining all over the place and certainly making me feel better.
Had a good day yesterday. Saw all the people I was supposed to see in the morning, had a drugs rep come with lunch and I pigged out and took a load home with me. Went to reading group to discuss 'The Girls' by Lori Lansing. this is an interesting story of a pair of conjoined twins attached at the head. Really enjoyed the book and the obligatory pigging out on yet more naughty stuff. There were only three of us for various reasons so this meant more than the usual ration. Mmmmm
Of course this is now starting to trigger thoughts of dieting, esp as my jeans were a lot too tight.....

Weelend and a lie in

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-14 - 07:29:39

Looking forward to an easy going weekend and a lie in on Saturday. Saturday night son No 1 and girlfriend and baby are staying over so we can all go to Manchester on Sunday to see some of his family. This is the first time they have stayed over as a couple here tho' they have stayed at their Grans house regularly.

Sort of looking forward to it with a sense of trepidation. Probably not the best weekend to do it on as hormonal but probably the only weekend as I am busy for the next 3 months. Fingers crossed.

Feeling better over all and more positive. Did a desk clear so I can some writing last night. Going to attempt to tackle the proch over the weekend as this has been on my list for nearly a month to clear and clean. It is nor that big, just no time or energy.

Have a good weekend, will pop in Monday having lost half a stone chasing dust bunnies :D

Not disappeared yet

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-12 - 15:34:36

Just popping in to say hi. Been a bit low in mood and tired, hormone related. When I an like this I lose confidence and all interest in writing anything at all. The mess gets on top of me and I feel like I am not making any progress with anything. Happily I know this will pass in the next few days and I will be my usual optimistic self very soon. Please ignore this message if you are already fed up.

First week of term

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-07 - 16:38:03

The first week of term over and it has go well. I am pleased with myself really. Managed to get ready for 8.30 every day, walked with little'un to school. She cycled and I bought the bike back home before driving to work. Before we had got into a bad habit of driving to school on my way to work. Managed to get packed lunches done the night before and bags and uniform ready. All in all, pretty good. Hope I can keep this up :D

A simple kiss

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-05 - 18:48:04

This is all it took to perk me up this morning. I was dropping off littl'un at school and usually she gives me quck hug, no kiss. Well today I got both. This most likely because a friend of her s kissd her mum. I am not complaining.

G was in hospital again, I was in A&E with her Monday night. I couln't disguise my anger with her but I wasn't really nasty. I don't think she remembers it much anyway.

SAt and watched Arthur and the Invisibles last night, loved it.

Looking forward to the weekend. Ecofest in Derby Sat and Sun, my conservation group is running a stall there.

Sat night, DCV mums ( old members from my conservation group who are no mums). Going to J's and husbands going to the pub. We are encouraging them all to socialise a bit as none of them go out to the pub or meet up with frends regularly.

Keep well everyone.

Five minutes of peace.

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-03 - 16:57:48

Just come in from work and the house is empty. MIL has take littl'un off somewhere.
Had a nice easy day at work and am feeling quite mellow. These moments of quiet are rare these days, the price I have paid for working in the day. Still, I have a lot more benefits so I am not complaining. Hpe everyone else is having a good day too.

I was right

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-09-01 - 09:47:18

I rang G last night after my post here and I didn't get an answer. Rang again later, still no answer. Instant thought: she's done it again.

Got a phone call from her, she is in hospital for monitoring after getting upset about them withdrawing the acute support team and having to collect only a few days of prescriptions all the time. I find this complaining attitude of hers about her meds really frustrating and makes me angry every time she starts going on about her. I just say 'what can you expect?'.

Anyway, no doubt I will be collecting her from hospital later.

Otherwise got a lot to do. Got tons of washing. some from the holiday and also some from when T was kicked out last week. The house is a mess as I was so bogged down before I left I didn't finish clearing it up before the s**t hit the fan. Made a start already. Also shopping, looking at mortgages, getting the conservation task programme sorted. It is piling up but I am hoping to do most of what I need to do today and then tomorrow go to the Spring Fair at the NEC where I have a look at what I want to be selling int he next year.
