back from travels

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-10-28 - 21:46:11

Hi to all my friends. I had a great time in France. We stayed in an old farmhouse with the MiL of a friend who lives there. We went ther for the first time last year when it was REALLY hot and I was so wrecked and tired I could hardly move. This time was perfect. To pay our rent we had to cut down a load of elder and burn it and also clear out a load of 4 year oud used straw from now unused stables and burn the lot. We had a fire going for five days. We didnt spend much money, ate out a few times, went to the local Saturday market, they have some strange looking veg in France. We could have bought live chickens. We visited on chateau and we were very happy. The location is in the middle of the country side near Saumur. Each night the skies were clear and there were hard frosts in the morning. Sunsets were beautiful.
One of the best things apart from the drinking every night and relaxation was that I realised how much fitter I am from last year. I lost 4lb in weight too, must be good.

Came back Thursday and on Friday set up stall at a Folk festival at the local assembly rooms which J and I attended until midnght last night. We did indoor camping and dismantled our stall at a leisurly pace this morning. Sales were not great but this is the first fest of theis type in Derby so it should get better. We made our first possible contact for a party plan type event too.

Now home and sorting out washing and stuff as back to the grind tomorrow.

Will try to catch up properly.

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-10-16 - 07:54:54

I had a great weekend business wise, selling well at Matlock Illuminations and Oxjam at Belper. Off for a week in France as it is half term.

See you all when I get back which, which may be well over a week becasue when I come back I am selling again for a whole weekend at a folk festival at Derby's Assembly Rooms.

Keep well and happy one and all, see you then.

The Weekend

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-10-13 - 09:15:36

Looking forward to this weekend as I am back at Matlck lights, shifting my stock and seeing gsome fireworks. Did do well last time so fingers crossed that the weather holds.

Tomorrow J and I are hopefully at the Oxfam music fstival in Belper, weather permitting. We were able to go for the whole weekend but was concerned about leaving our stuff at an uknown site. Also one would still have to do Matlock lights. Anyway, whole day of it on Sunday and considering the whole weekend if they run it again next year.

I have lot of stock sitting around at the moment because I haven't been good at getting it on ebay, which is where half of my sales happen. Business is slow anyway but I am not helping myself. Postal strike loks like it is over so I am hoping for an improvement in that direction.

I have spent the last few days sorting stuff. I haven't filed any of my jottings for about two years have started on 2006's. There are all these stories abd observations in notebooks and around my house secreted in draws and corners. Getting them together is a mass undertaking. All this from starting to tidy my room, which is the house dumping ground a few weekes ago.

I also hit the business accounts yesterday, not done since mid July for no good reason apart from apathy. I have done just about all I need to do apart from filing the paperwork, and then I will be up to date and ready for my next challenge, my own personal paperwork.

As you can tell, I haven't done much lately, just maintaining. I used to do all this sort of stuff in the day when I worked nights but I jhaven't gotten into a routine with it all since starting days 6 months ago.

So back to it. Have a good weekend all :D

Time is passing fast.

Had a good weekend with a lie in, and lie down on Saturday due to cold and shivers. By Sunday up and about again doing drystone walling in a field near Belper. Good sunny day.

Yesterday was spent getting lost around Nottingham, looking for the City hospital where I was to attend my course to find I had been told wrong (after paying £5.00 parking) and had to cross the city to the Queens Medical Centre. It is with some pride that I am attending a course a the 17th top university in the world.

Anyway, I was ok, only two hours late so only missed lots of info I don't need much. I thought I was doing this at diploma level but will be doing it at degree level, so slightly nervous about how I will do. Should be OK.

Going out now to a friends house. I haven't seen N for a while so have a lot of catching up.

Weekend line up

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-10-05 - 17:29:18

Was a bit stressed last night. G and son No1 turning up unannounced. I am not in the mood for being nice to people right now and they all disappeared after a few hours. Had a good sleep caused by NOT hearing son No2's alarm a 6.15 am and feeling a lot better for it.

Looking forward to the sort of weekend I used to dream of. This evening it is swimming and then slobbing followed by doing nothing in particular all day tomorrow, maybe with a glass of wine in hand, Sunday is to be spent dry stone walling with my friends. What more could a gal want.

Hope everyone else has a good weekend :D

Catch up

by loveslifeloveschocolate @ 2007-10-03 - 18:11:03

Been busy or busy the last few days. Had a great time at Bath Illuminations on Saturday and lots of housework on Sunday. Swimming Monday and collapse in heap Tuesday.
Cream crackered through lack of sleep.
Had an altercation with a truck driver this morning which means its bad.

Otherwise happy after skipping through leaves for the first time this year :D

I'll pop in again soon.
